The Holocaust Centre of New Zealand was picked by Culture Trip as one of their New Zealand Local Favourites 2017/one of Wellington's must-visit museums. Here is a link to their review.

School Visits

School groups are welcome at the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand. 

Our education programmes offer student engagement with Holocaust survivors who came to New Zealand, as well as resources to help teachers understand how they can facilitate their students' learning about the Holocaust.

The Centre promotes the teaching of the Holocaust through a variety of resources and programmes to help the teachers increase their knowledge of Holocaust history and implement effective learning.

Teachers can book visits to the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand via the School Group online booking form.

The Holocaust Centre of New Zealand's exhibits and facilities are accessible to all visitors.  

Public parking

On-street parking along Webb Street is free, though time limits do apply.

Mobility parking

Mobility parking can be arranged in the Centre's trade entrance driveway. We advise phoning ahead to arrange access to the car park at the Centre’s trade entrance off Webb Street. Contact us if you have special accessibility requirements.

Wheelchair access

The public footpath on Webb Street provides easy access to the main entrance on the ground floor.  All of our exhibits in the Centre are on the ground floor.

Restroom facilities

Disability restroom facilities are in the building’s lower ground area, and are easily accessible through the driveway of the main community centre. When visiting, please don't hesitate to ask our visitor guides for assistance. Opening hours

The Centre is open from 10.00am to 1.00pm Sunday to Friday.

Closed on Saturdays and Jewish Holidays.

Press the buzzer button at the front door for access.

Research library and Wi-Fi

All Library materials are available on-site only, as the Centre does not currently lend out its catalogue collections. Personal laptop computers are welcome and the Centre provides a free Wi-Fi network to support your research needs.

Location & Attractions

The Centre is located at the Wellington Jewish Community Centre at 80 Webb Street, Te Aro, Wellington.

We are right at the top end of Wellington City's famous Cuba Street. There are a number of cafes just around the corner and down the road from the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand.
